SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) Systems that Remove NOx

A type of air pollution called photochemical smog became a major social problem in the latter half of the 1960s.
In that same period, Hitachi Zosen began developing SCR catalysts that remove NOx from exhaust gas; and in 1973, we started commercially producing SCR systems.
At present, approximately 330 Hitachi Zosen SCR systems are operating in approximately 150 locations, not only in Japan but also in the United States, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Middle Eastern countries, and elsewhere.
In the future we will continue to contribute worldwide to preventing air pollution.

SCR Systems that Remove NOx

Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), a Cause of Air Pollution

The nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx) emitted from factories and cars by the combustion of fossil fuel are causes of air pollution.
Moreover, NOx and SOx change in the air to sulfuric acid and nitric acid, which become acid rain. And acid rain creates an environment in which forests die and the creatures in rivers and marshes become unable to breathe.
