Government endorses waste power generation

The national government has officially endorsed high-efficiency waste to energy plants as significant contributors to the fight against global warming through reduced CO2 emissions.

Waste power generation in small-scale waste incineration plants

Hitachi Zosen has successfully introduced waste power generation systems into small-scale waste incineration plants of throughput 100 t or less, which are not considered suitable for conventional power generation systems. A prime example is the facility at Chosei Clean Park, completed in 1999, which consists of two incinerators with processing capacity of 72 t per day and power generation capacity of 1,800 kW each.
